A Barnardo's home for girls was established in November 1943 at 9 Links Gate, Lytham St Anne's.

In 1966, a nursery was opened in the property. Two years later it became a children's day-care unit. From 1971, it was used as a mixed residential home then, in April 1975, began to cater for children having physical and learning disabilities.

The home was finally closed in 1977. The building no longer survives.
