St Mungo's Approved School, Mauchline, Ayrshire, Scotland

St Mungo's Approved Schooll for up to 100 Roman Catholic Junior Boys was in operation by 1943 in requistitioned premises at Barskimming House, Mauchline, Ayrshire. It was run by the De La Salle Brothers, with the Rev. Brother Wilfred as headmaster. The main practical instruction provided was in woodwork.

By the early 1950s, plans were discussed for relocating the school to the former Sailors Orphanage at Kilmacolm but the scheme did not come to fruition. Instead, in July 1956, the Secretary of State at the Scottish Education Department gave notice that he considered the continuance of the school to be unnecessary and that its certificate of operation would be withdrawn from 31 December 1956.
