Auxiliary Home for Girls, Ealing, Middlesex
In 1903, the Metropolitan Association for Befriending Young Servants (MABYS) opened an Auxiliary Home for Girls at 31 Grange Park, Ealing, Middlesex. On September 1st, 1903, the establishment was certified to receive up to 9 girls from certified Industrial Schools. The Home provided hostel-style accommodation for girls aged from 14 to 20 who were leaving, or on licence from, one of the Schools in the capital, or who were former inmates between situations.
Sometime in the 1920s, the Home appears to have relocated a short distance to 50 The Grove, Ealing.
MABYS resigned the Home's certificate to receive girls from Industrial Schools as of 4th March, 1930.

Note: many repositories impose a closure period of up to 100 years for records identifying individuals. Before travelling a long distance, always check that the records you want to consult will be available.
- Fairly few records relating to MABYS appear to survive. Try using the National Archives Discovery system to search for either "Metropolitan Association For Befriending Young Servants" or "MABYS Association".
